Vices

The vices include anger, lust, greed, arrogance, ego etc.
The vices (collectively) have been represented by various mythical figures. Ravana is an example of the vices-in-action. 'Vices-in-action' means that the vices are influencing us to do something or the other. Maya (the female demon) represents the vices only being at thought level. If we are under the influence of Maya, the vices are in an emerged state but we are not doing anything based on the influence of the vices. If we are under the influence of Ravana, then we are doing something while the vices are in control. When we do something based on the influence of the vices, we become Ravana (the devil) because the vices are in control.
The soul's original qualities are not the vices. The soul's original qualities are the virtues and powers. We are virtuous and godly when our original qualities are in an emerged state. In the Confluence Age, the vices are not in an emerged state when we are in the soul-conscious stage. When the vices emerge, we lose our soul-conscious stage and become body-conscious.
